Feature Request: Time-Limited Emergency Stop Code Disabling mode (strict mode)

6

I'm writing to request a valuable feature that would significantly enhance FocusMe's ability to help users stay focused and resist distractions. I propose the addition of an option to temporarily disable the Emergency Stop Code feature for a specified duration.
Here's how this feature would work:
User Initiates Disabling: The user would have the ability to set a timer within FocusMe to temporarily disable the Emergency Stop Code feature. This could be accessed through a clear option within the app's settings or preferences.
Customizable Duration: The user would be able to choose the desired duration for the disabling period, ranging from minutes to hours or even for days and months, based on their individual needs and preferences.
Protection from External Codes: During this specified time, any Emergency Stop Codes, whether obtained from FocusMe support, shared by friends, or accessed from different accounts, would be rendered inactive. This would prevent impulsive overrides of FocusMe's restrictions.
Clear Indication: The app would prominently display a visual reminder that the Emergency Stop Code feature is temporarily disabled, along with a countdown timer showing the remaining time until it reactivates.
Benefits of this Feature:
Strengthened Commitment: It would empower users to make more resolute commitments to their focus sessions, knowing that they've temporarily removed the temptation to prematurely override them.
Reduced Vulnerability to Impulses: It would help curb impulsive decisions to break focus sessions, encouraging users to stick to their plans and resist distractions.
Enhanced Accountability: It would promote a greater sense of accountability and responsibility for one's focus goals, as users would be more mindful of their choices and the consequences of prematurely ending sessions.
I believe this feature would be a welcome addition to FocusMe's already impressive toolkit for promoting focus and productivity. It has the potential to significantly improve user experience and help individuals achieve their goals more effectively. I hope you'll seriously consider its implementation.

Another idea related to this idea explains the problem with the code delay option: The problem with the code delay feature is that it's not enough effective, why? because of FocusMe's code mechanism, due to my experience: the code can work on any device, If I ask for a code from your support I can use it with no problem, and if I have a friend who also uses the FocusMe app and needed a code I can give him/her the code I used before and the code will work with no problem.

I've noticed a new mechanism in your code, I have tried an old code today and the app told me that the code expired, so it seems that the code has a limited time the user should use the code in.

I have a new idea about a new mechanism and the source code of the focusme app won't change a lot it means way fewer bugs, the idea is to make an integrated page in your website that generates codes for the users immediately, the user can use a code whenever he wants and that would make a huge difference for the focusme support team and your team would have the ability to focus on the most important case.

How can we make the user focus on the tasks he should finish and not procrastinate finishing the tasks he should finish using the FocusMe app? A new update in the app gives the user the ability to disable the Emergency code functionality for a limited time the user can set the time he/she wants to set, it's his/her responsibility when using this feature and the user should use it carefully and the user should check his plans before enabling the feature (focusme emergency code disabler —–> I will give it a name: the strict mode ), but how this feature can be integrated into the app, it's window can be above the plans table, this is where the user can enable this feature, that's all I have and I will, of course, send the feature idea to the feature request page.

Note: if the user wants the traditional way, the user can block that code website if he wants to not use the feature in the app so the user won't be able to have a code using a separate plan and the user can contact your support by E-mail or the website chat.

I hope you all like my idea and find it useful.

I have a new idea about the emergency stop code disabler feature it can be implemented in a different way using the device ID, How? Update focusme with a new feature within the FocusMe app in the “activate” section which can be named “strict mode activation”, it can be managed by Focusme’s support or a dashboard page, the user can manage it using his account, and his device ID the process will be like this the user choose for How long he wants to enable the strict mode feature then receives a code he should enter in the focusme app activation section then the strict mode period starts and the emergency code won’t work under any circumstances during the strict mode period and I also have another idea what if the user needs to disable the plans urgently let’s say the user got hacked or made a terrible plan and need to change it urgently and needs to make urgent actions so he needs to disable the plans urgently, How to manage a situation like this? pay to disable the strict mode the user should pay a specific amount of money I think 20 or 30 dollars can be good and it can be based on the user’s income I think it can be like an integrated accountability program with different levels, in exchange the user can receive a new kind of I will call the “golden code” it can be received by E-mail immediately after the payment transaction (it can be used as an accountability feature) everything should be automated even the normal emergency should be automated.
