Delayed Gratification

The idea is that if there is an app or website that is still useful to use, but you can get sidetracked-on, then having to wait 15-30-60 seconds before it opens doesn’t waste almost any time, but can help you realize that you don’t really need to open it.

I would really appreciate seeing this implemented, as it helps to learn to break a bad habit without having to block it out completely. (It can even be combined with the timers to make it even better).

Similar to Delayed Gratification chrome extension.

  1. There are some browser extensions that do it currently (Freedom), while the developers don’t add it to FocusMe

  2. Yes, I think maybe this is the only way of trying to restrict losing time on useful websites (maybe because of too much curiosity). Also, using a tab limiter. To anyone reading this: keep going man. Keep going. You are adoptating a system that protect your intentionality. I don’t know who you are or where you are, but I hope that you can do something good because society is decaying and we must be the men who try to be the example.
