Hi 🙂
I'm a big user of forced mode, and I usually set up my plans so that they are in forced mode always except for an inconvenient time window in the week (typically from 6am to 7am on wednesday), where the protection plan will be light, like 10 random characters. That way I can't unlock the plan impulsively, but I still can edit it easily when it is really necessary. (the 2000 random characters protection plan is a great deterrent too against impulses, but is really annoying when you have to make a legit edit like an addition to the allowlist or something)
However this is possible only with plans that can be set to active always (except for that inconvenient time window). Some plans recquire instead some long windows of times where it is inactive, and so can't be set to a too easy protection plan, since then you would be able to act on impulses.
So what I'm proposing is simply to break the link between protection plan and plan state (active vs inactive). A way to do it would be : on the protection plan page, instead of having options to select a protection plan for active and inactive states, you simply have a schedule like the one on the page where you decide when the plan is inactive or not. That way, independently of the inactive or active state of your plan, you can set up the exact protection pattern you want : Always in forced mode except for a time window in the week, or a combination of forced mode, random characters, custom passwords, or different length of random passwords at different times, etc….The default protection would be nothing, then you would select a period of time and link a protection plan to it. You would repeat the process until your protection pattern is complete for each day. Of course, there could be an option to automatically revert back to linking protection plans to active or inactive states for those that prefer it that way
I think it would let each user further customize this superb tool that is focusme to suit their exact needs.
I really hope it's technically feasible ^^
Thanks 🙂
so what you mean is the ability to choose the plan protection level based on time intervals so if you want to make changes (add a new whitelist) at night, for example: asking for a code to disable all the plans to make your change, I think it’s a good and can be a vulnerability at the same time but as a new type of plans it can be good especially when you are a force mode user.
