href=\"https:\/\/stats.oecd.org\/Index.aspx?DataSetCode=ANHRS\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">OECD Statistic<\/a>s, the average American worked 38.6 hours per week in 2016. We were told that the age of technology would reduce our work time and increase our leisure hours. Yet when we compare this figure to that of 2000, we find that working hours have reduced by 0.3 hours (approximately 20 minutes). We\u2019re not exactly getting the extra time for the fun that we were promised, are we? Do you have to work virtually 24\/7 just to reach the end of the list? That\u2019s not good for you; your body\u2019s not designed for that. You aren\u2019t a machine. You can\u2019t keep on working and expect to perform at your peak.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Your body needs rest and relaxation to perform at the highest level. While this is fairly obvious in terms of physical performance, it is just as important to ensure peak mental activity. Spend different parts of your day sitting and standing.<\/p><p>Try and keep your back straight as much as you can. Many of these cheaper chairs don\u2019t allow for the backrest to be adjusted, and this often worsens lower back pain.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Ergonomic desk chairs are better designed for long periods of sitting. They are usually adjustable and can be customized to fit a person\u2019s height, spinal curvature, and seating arrangement. They also have lower back and lumbar support and more comfortable neck positioning. It releases even the deepest stresses and strains.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Ideally, you should allow 20 minutes twice a day for meditation.
